TU Hosting the International Fly Fishing Festival

Nocterra Brewing | October 6, 2023

TU Mad River Chapter is using the IF4 screening to bring together the fly fishing community in Central Ohio and as a fundraiser for stream restoration work the Chapter is planning for the Mad River. It will be a free event, but there will be raffles and a silent auction to raise funds.

Donations will be accepted at the door.

Join us in the vendor garden before the film to hear what’s happening in the Central Ohio fly fishing community!

Vendor garden opens at 5:30 pm
Film screening starts at 7:00ish (sundown)

Hosted by: Trout Unlimited Mad River Chapter #477

This is a ticketless event, but those who register for a free ticket will be entered into a raffle drawing-must be present to win.

For information about this screening, please contact host at pamallen@tumadriver.org. For questions about IF4™ or the presentation email info@flyfilmfest.com.

February’s Meeting on Wednesday the 15th!

Good morning all,

Just a heads up for February’s meeting, as COFF is always a proponent of domestic bliss, we were compelled to move February’s meeting off of our usual Tuesday date.  This year’s “normal” date would have been February 14th, instead, we will be meeting on Wednesday, February 15th.  Several factors involved, least of which is unusually large crowds on Valentine’s Day.  Jon Horn, purveyor of great speakers, has yet another lined up for us this coming month.
   Feb 15 (Weds)

John Navarro  (ODNR)

“The Recovery of Ohio Stream Fishes – Thank you Clean Water Act!”

John is an administrator of the Aquatic Stewardship Program.  His team works on the restoration and protection of physical habitats in and adjacent to streams, and meeting the requirements and stream designations put forth by the Clean Water Act.

Will surely be another great meeting, I will send another reminder when the date draws near.

Have a great day,

Tim

Sept. 13th club meeting 6-8 @ Lion’s Club Park, West Liberty, OH

Good afternoon everyone,
Hope you are all soaking up the last bits of August, the weather has been very pleasant and the fish have responded.  Delaware Lake was kicking out largemouth bass like crazy Tuesday night when we were there.
All that aside, Sept. is upon us and that means we are ready to get back to monthly club meetings!  Our next being Sept. 13, and our guest speaker committee, consisting of Jon Horn and Steve Parker have a special guest for this installment.
Dr. Rob Worthington from Lexington, KY will be sharing his knowledge of Tenkara with us.  See the links below to find out more about Rob.
This special presentation will require a special location, we will be meeting at the pavilion at Lions Club Park in West Liberty, OH which is on the banks of the Mad River and nearby Macochee Creek.
The address is:
576 Township Rd 174West Liberty, OH 43357
Just off of OH 245, you can’t miss it.
Bring a side of dessert or side for potluck, Jon H will have Subway for your main course, don’t want anyone to go away hungry.

“Dr. Rob Worthing is a flyfishing and rock climbing enthusiast with a penchant for Tenkara.  He guides and teaches Tenkara to groups all around the Country -often via immersive experiences in beautiful places full of trout!  He has a deep teaching skillset and extensive knowledge of Tenkara techniques.”
