Monthly Meeting
Old Bag of Nails – Hilliard | November 11th, 2025
For our November meeting, we welcome fly rod builder and instructor Mike Laughlin. Mike has been building fly rods for 20 years, having built over 200 rods during that time. Five years ago, Mike started teaching classes on bamboo fly rod making in conjunction with the John C Campbell Folk School in North Carolina.
As usual, we will start gathering at 6 pm with the presentation starting around 7 pm.
Old Bag of Nails – Hilliard | October 14th, 2025
For our October meeting, COFF members Steve Moore and Andrew Dafler will be giving mini presentations on recent fly fishing trips they took. Steve will be presenting on his summer trip to Nipigon, Canada, and Andrew will be presenting on a recent trip to the South Holston river in eastern Tennessee.
As usual, we will start gathering at 6 pm with the presentations starting around 7 pm.
Old Bag of Nails – Hilliard | September 9th, 2025
For our September meeting, Jeff Blood will be speaking about fly fishing for steelhead. Jeff is a highly respected fly angler, guide, and product designer known for his expertise in catching Great Lakes steelhead. His work is most closely associated with the Lake Erie tributaries, where he developed many of his signature flies, rods, and fishing techniques.
As usual, we will start gathering at 6 pm with the presentation starting around 7 pm.
