| The Board of Directors of Trout Unlimited Madmen Chapter #477 is pleased to announce this year’s Annual Meeting which will be held in conjunction with the Chapter’s first-ever Gala event at the Simon Kenton Inn in Springfield, OH. All Chapter members, their guests and others interested in supporting the Mad River are invited to attend. The “meeting” portion of this affair will be brief with the main emphasis being on fun, food, entertainment and camaraderie. “Social Hour” begins at 6:00 p.m. with a cash bar, looping fly fishing videos and guest fly-tiers Kevin Ramsey and George Daniel. A buffet-style dinner from 7:00 until 8-ish followed by a 15-minute (or so) business meeting. Our main presentation by George Daniel will follow. The evening will conclude with our biggest raffle yet, including a Thomas & Thomas fly rod and reel (TBD) as the Grand Prize. It has been said for the fly-fisherman, the St. Joe River is an enigma wrapped in a mystery. This program will unwrap the mystery of what is quite possibly the best steelhead fishery in the United States. This presentation covers the vast angling opportunities the river and its tributaries offer throughout the year. Included are techniques for steelhead, salmon, smallmouth bass, longnose gar, rod/reel selection, fly selection, terminal rigging, and reading the water.
